Focus, Emotional Expression, and Well-being Through Creative Colouring
Colour Hug invited participants to explore emotions and well-being through therapeutic colouring and reflective journaling. Although initially perceived by some as “just colouring,” the activity quickly revealed its deeper impact.
As participants worked with colours and shapes, they reported improved focus, reduced screen-related distraction, and sustained attention. Colour choices became a non-verbal emotional language, allowing feelings and memories to surface without pressure to explain them verbally.
Competences developed
- Knowledge: Colouring as a tool for emotional well-being
- Skills: Focus, emotional awareness, reflective journaling
- Attitudes: Openness to simple practices, valuing personal creative time
Despite a noisy environment, participants remained deeply absorbed—one describing the experience as “opening a door to a new portal.” All expressed willingness to continue the practice independently.
