Writing, Rhythm, and Emotional Well-being

Express Your Pain combined expressive writing and rhythm-based activities to support emotional processing and communication skills. While many participants initially joined to practice English, they soon discovered writing as a powerful well-being tool.

Writing—particularly poetry—supported reflection on emotions and personal priorities, while rhythm and drumming enabled participants to access feelings beyond words. The integration of language and embodied expression created a rich, multi-layered emotional experience.
