Spray Yourself: Art, Music, and Emotional Expression

Creating Space for Expression

The Spray Yourself session combined art and music to promote self-expression and social inclusion. Participants engaged creatively while gradually overcoming feelings of shame and hesitation, developing greater confidence and openness throughout the process.

Music as an Emotional Catalyst

Music played a central role in the experience, accompanying the artistic process and supporting emotional exploration. During the final group discussion, participants reflected on how the same music evoked different emotions for each person, reinforcing empathy and emotional awareness within the group.

Flexibility and Collaboration

The tool proved highly flexible and adaptable, allowing the youth worker to personalize the experience while maintaining its core objectives. Participants collaborated, interacted, and contributed actively, strengthening teamwork and mutual understanding.

Inclusive and Creative Exploration

The session highlighted how art-based tools can create inclusive spaces where emotions are explored safely and creatively, supporting both individual expression and group connection.
