Healthy inclusion through Art meet CTA Maria Sanfilippo

Last September, during scheduled meetings with stakeholders for the project, Metaintelligence met with Maria Sanfilippo, President of CTA, and several of its staff. The facility is a therapeutic community affiliated with the National Health System, housing 20 people and conducting intensive residential psychiatric rehabilitation programs daily. This is done through a team of professionals trained in a humanistic approach, inspired by the work of American psychologist Carl Rogers.

The President, Manola Albanese, psychologist and administrator of this CTA and more, explained the activities carried out by the staff within the rehabilitation programs, and we, as Healthy Art, explained the phases of our project. We had so much in common that we decided to extend the collaboration beyond the project.

After the meeting between the “insiders,” we went to the common areas where the community’s “guests” carry out their daily activities and met some of them, who were talking among themselves, defining their “emotions”: what led them to fear, what brought them to happiness, sadness, and so on.

 It was a very interesting meeting, also with a view to a future collaboration between the parties.
