Pieces of Me
Reflecting on Identity, Well-being, and Future Goals
Pieces of Me offered a creative, collage-based space for participants to explore identity, values, strengths, and aspirations. Many described this as the first time they were encouraged to focus entirely on themselves.
Through image selection and guided reflection, participants strengthened self-awareness, decision-making, and confidence. Explaining their collages supported verbal expression and emotional clarity, bridging inner reflection with communication.
Competences developed
- Knowledge: Personal values, motivations, and well-being
- Skills: Creative expression, planning, decision-making, verbal articulation
- Attitudes: Self-confidence, openness, future-oriented thinking
The calm, focused atmosphere supported deep engagement, and many participants chose to continue working on their collages at home.
Overall Impact
Across all five tools, participants consistently reported increased emotional awareness, confidence, calm, and connection. The activities demonstrated how creative, low-threshold, and culturally responsive approaches can powerfully support youth well-being, identity exploration, and empowerment.
Together, these tools highlight the value of arts-based and reflective practices in youth work—offering young people accessible ways to slow down, express themselves, and build meaningful connections with themselves and others.
